Shopping for vintage models and collectables at Comet Miniatures in Clapham
Packed to the rafters with action figures, garage kits and model toys of every size, shape and era, Comet Miniatures in Clapham is a fantastic treasure trove of nostalgia. Specialising in models and collectables, here is the perfect place to pick up a unique gift for the little people in your life – one that you simply will not find on the high street.
Occupying a rather unassuming spot on Lavender Hill, Comet Miniatures is the life’s work of Tony James who has resided here since the doors were first opened by Gerry Anderson himself back in the early 90s. Being a true gentleman of his time, Tony knows the world of collectables and the contents of his shop inside out and will happily advise even the most clueless of customers on the best purchase for purpose.
From James Bond to Doctor Who, Narnia, The A Team, Thunderbirds, Star Trek, Transformers and Captain Scarlett there are hundreds of famous faces to choose from as well as a whole host of military memorabilia. My favourite picks include a reproduction model of the classic 1950s Routemaster (just two left in stock!), a toy version of ‘General Lee’ from Dukes of Hazzard plus Lady Penelope’s infamous FAB1.
